Random: Features I’d like to see in xchat
Xchat is a wonderful IRC client, but there’s a few features I’d like to see:
1) Emoticons on linux
2) The channel name in the nickname button next to the input box.
3) Some sort of text event at midnight – this is mainly for day tracking in those very quiet channels.
4) Ability to send all notices, wallops and server notices to the main server tab / window – I’ve tried to do this with a script, but while it was largely successfuly, when it bugged out nothing would be displayed.
5) A text event when people go into and out of away mode. (With an on/off toggle)
6) A KDE front-end. Purely because I run KDE and the less GTK stuff I run the better IMO. It’ll probably never happen, but it’s a nice idea.
7) Display the “disconnected” event only once on each channel when first disconnected. I hate the way this can flood off whatever was previously on the channel.
