External Projects

As an open source user I regularly contribute to a number of projects. The projects that I am currently focusing on are Gentoo Linux and the unofficial Gentoo Wiki.

Personal Projects

The following is a quick list of ongoing public projects. Most are currently not considered to be ready for release in any fashion.

  • Gentoo Overlay: My personal Gentoo repository – containing packages I’ve either created or downloaded from bugs.gentoo.org that I couldn’t find in another overlay. If you have any issues with these packages, please contact me and I’ll be happy to try and fix the problem.
  • PHP Projects: My personal library of PHP projects. Currently being rebuilt from scratch after a few years “out of the loop”, using the Zend Framework.
  • Icekap: An icecap client for KDE based on Konversation.
  • Iceserl: The ultimate goal is an icecap server written in Erlang, but this projects main purpose is to help me learn Erlang.
  • Polykephal: In the very early stages of development, this project is a C++/Qt based icecap server. I started this project to help me learn C++ / Qt / concurrency in C++.

Additionally I perform ongoing maintenance, upgrades and improvements on my Virtual Private Server which currently runs Gentoo Linux with Apache, MySQL, PHP, Trac, Subversion, mail services (Postfix, Dovecot, amavisd-new, sqlgrey, SpamAssassin) for my own sites and a small number of clients from my freelance work.

The mail server setup was used as the basis for the Mail Server using Postfix and Dovecot guide on Gentoo Wiki.
